LHSS Student Lesson handouts

This useful information is covered in lesson at some point.

For effective home practice, we suggest you read Singing Practice Tips soon after your first lesson.

Backing Tracks

While in lesson, the student can use any of the songs on the LHSS Music Catalogue to sing in lesson.

NOTE: You will need to purchase your own music, including backing tracks, for private use and use outside the Studio.

You can purchase backing tracks here:

  • Clark Music Australia
Providers of backing tracks/music on CD, having access to every distributor in the world. If it's available on CD they can usually locate it.

Backing CDs cost approx. $20.00 - $60.00 each and they have approximately 8 - 16 tracks per CD.

The backing tracks are not available through mainstream record stores e.g. Sanity, Dillons Music etc.

Alternatively, you can compile and purchase your choice of backing tracks from the Sound Choice range. They have over 20,000 tracks to choose from and cost $7.70 per track. You need to purchase a minimum of 10 songs and a maximum of 15. They post your custom-made CD to you within a few days.

You do this online by going to www.proburncdg.com or www.soundchoice.com.au
It is also administered by Clark Music Australia.

    NOTE TO LHSS STUDNETS:
LHSS students are to mention that they are attending our school, as they offer 10% discount on all "Factory Made" discs to singing school students.

Over 10,000 tracks to pick from. You can listen to the first 45 seconds of the song. It tells you what key it is in.

You pay online and download them immediately on your computer. Tracks are approximately 2 - 4 UK pounds each.

Print music

Print music (scores, songbook and sheet music) can be purchased from any good print music store. LHSS uses the following two outlets:

Print Musicworks have access to a very large range of print music. They can order music quickly and are very reliable.
They charge a reasonable delivery fee.

They are located interstate and have a toll free number
    ph 1800 060 518

Although you *can* order from them online, I have found that this isn't as effective as talking to them on the phone.

  • Sheet Music Direct

Buy a single song on sheet music online and download it onto your computer.

You can view songs for keys and versions.

Sheet music (one song) is  approximately 4 US dollars each. With the conversion to Australian dollar it averages about $4.50.

Read the “Getting Started” page before you buy.
