An extra day has been added to Adelaide's Australian Idol auditions this weekend.

Originally scheduled for Saturday 15 May at the Hotel Adelaide Intenational, Adelaide has been alocated the extra audition day along with Perth and Sydney.

About 15,000 people turned up for the reality-TV singing auditions in 2003. This figure has already been surpassed and there are still four cities to go.

At the Brisbane auditions, the daughter of a friend arrive at the first audition at 6.00am. She didn't secure an audition due to the show having reached their quota of auditionees for that day. She returned the next day and auditioned, having arrived at 4.00am this time.

If you are auditioning, it is advisable to arrive before 6.00am.

Adelaide Cabaret Festival

In it's fourth year the Adelaide Cabaret Festival offers over 170 reasons to step out in style. Every night is a great night out, and a cheap one at that.

The Festival kicks off on the Queens Birthday weekend and runs for 16 nights of showstopping performances. More than 380 artists will gather in the Adelaide Festival Centre presenting over 175 shows, with 9 premieres.
