The Leanne Hoad Singing Studio will have a spot on 'AM Adelaide' this Monday 30 September, Channel 7, 11am.
Leanne will be talking about the Studio and LHSS student/trainee teacher Lisa Simonetti will be singing the Whitney Houston song 'I Have Nothing'.

Campbelltown Mayoral Talent Night
Congratulations to the 9 finalists who entered the Campbelltown Mayoral Talent Night on Friday September 13, at Campbelltown Function Centre.

About Irene: Irene Bartlett (Head of Contemporary & Jazz voice studies at Griffith University, Brisbane, Qld. Performer)
Outline: Whilst in Adelaide as a guest lecturer for the Voice! The Cutting Edge Conference, the LHSS has obtained a unique opportunity for our students. Irene has granted our request for her to conduct private lessons for singers who are interested in learning more of the contemporary & jazz styles and get some advice on vocal technique.
There has been lots of interest and there are only a few spots left so please register your interest immediately.

New Premises
We are still in the process of looking for new premises to accommodate our growth from 3 teaching studios an office and a waiting area, to 5 teaching studios, an office, staff room and a waiting area.

Relocating to new premises will be in the next 6 months and we are looking no more than a 5K radius from our current Studios such as The Parade, Magill Road, Kensington Road.

NEW STAFF
Welcome to Allison Bourke our latest Staff Member who has been with us for a couple of months being trained as a teacher and administrator at the Leanne Hoad Singing Studio.

She has a double degree in Arts and Music from the University of Adelaide and has completed intensive inhouse training at the Studio.

Allison has previous teaching experience from working in various schools in the suburbs of Adelaide.

She also has lots of experience as a performer including chamber recitals in the Adelaide Fringe and roles in opera and musical theatre productions.

She is completing an intensive course of inhouse training and is looking forward to the challenges which await her as a teacher. Allison will commence teaching sometime in Term 3. The expertise and experience she brings to the Studio will greatly benefit all students.

SUCCESSES
Many of you will remember Kelli-ann Blakers (http://www.leannehoad.com.au/success/success2000.html#kelliann) who was a student with us last year and performed at Showcase 2001. Kelli-ann moved to Sydney in January this year to pursue a singing career. She was short-listed for the professional stage musical of 'Mamma Mia" and has recently auditioned for a full-time position at 'Wonderland' at Fox Studios.

Well done to the many students who have performed in musical productions this year including "Joseph & The Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "The Gondoliers"

Congratulations also to the many Dancers who come to us for singing lessons. Almost every one of them has received a placing in the various song and dance sections of the competitions they have entered this year.

Well done, too, to the couple of dozen 'beginner' singers who participated in our "Beginners Performers Concerts" at the end of each term. You all did a great job. Our Beginner's Concerts are specifically designed to provide an opportunity for beginning singers to start performing in front of people in a non-threatening enviroment and develop performing skills.

BALAKLAVA EISTEDDFODS
Best of luck to the 17 LHSS entrants who are competing at this year's Balaklava Eisteddfod on August 3. Last year we boasted 13 placings and were recently featured in an article in the local Balaklava newspaper.
