Kids

We love teaching kids. They are some of our best students. Students start lessons from around the age of 5. Group lessons are best suited to 5-7 year olds. From 7 years, there are two options, group designed for their age, or private singing lessons.

We make lessons fun for kids by singing their favourite songs, using microphones and performing.

We make sure that they are always comfortable and having fun in lessons. Their teacher ensures that lessons are at the child's pace, that good vocal technique is being learned and applied and that their voice keeps improving.

Two options are available for kids:

Private lessons
Private lessons allows the teacher to concentrate on the vocal techniques specifically required for the child's voice, and they sing songs suited to their skill level and personal taste.

Kids do a block of 10 half an hour lessons at a set time each week. Lessons are held every afternoon and evening Monday - Friday, and all day Saturdays.

Our teachers are well-trained and exceptionally friendly. They make kids feel comfortable, help them achieve their goals ...they'll have lots of fun learning.

You can choose to sing songs from our Music Catalogue-there are thousands to pick from. We have all the latest songs as well as past favourites. Alternatively, kids can bring their own CDs and play them through our CD player which can change the song's pitch to suit the child's range.

Kids can also bring their iPods with their songs on it if they prefer.

In their studio there is also a keyboard, rehearsal mirror and microphones to use. We will record each lesson on a CD for you take home each week–their personalised singing course at their finger tips to practice with.

If you want to see what singing lessons are like before booking in for a 10 week block of lessons, you can do our no - obligation One Hour Introductory lesson. This is also a private lesson-just you and your teacher to see if it is for you. You will get a brief professional assessment of your voice and its potential. We suggest parents sit in on this lesson as well so they can see how a lesson is conducted and what is involved in singing lessons at our Studio. It's great value at just $75.00. We require the payment at the time of you making the booking. This can be paid by phone credit card, electronic funds transfer, or making an appointment to come into the Studio to pay.

Lesson are held every afternoon and evening Monday - Friday, and all day Saturdays. An Introductory lesson can be done anytime during the year. Simply call the Studio to see what times are available.

 

Group Classes
You will learn techniques to improve and strengthen your voice. Group lessons are an affordable way to learn how to sing.

• No need to be nervous – our friendly teachers will make you feel comfortable.
• Sing songs you like – we choose songs which you will enjoy singing, including the latest songs on the charts.
• No prior experience required – we’ll teach you everything you need to know to sing well.
• You will make friends – meet like-minded people.
• Opportunities to perform – only for those who are interested! The studio has a live gigging area for you to experience a live gigging concert room. It helps performance skills and builds confidence.
• Accommodate the students– if you haven't had private lessons before, start in the Beginners group. The teacher will let you know when you are ready to move to the next group.

A CD recording of the lesson is available for the student to take home each week-your own singing course at your finger tips to practice to. This is at no extra cost. You simply bring a good quality blank CD-R to each lesson, or buy one from the Studio for $2.50.

Parents are invited to sit in on a couple of lessons each term. The students receive a report card each semester.

5-7 year group

There are a number of after school classes available for 5- 7 year old. This age group is best suited to small groups of four - five. Lessons are held during the school term and cost $165.00 a term. A $50.00 deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance is paid on the first lesson.

Students learn to sing in pitch, breathing techniques, musicality, theory, rhythm and do vocal exercises and sing songs they enjoy, mostly suitable popular songs. They also learn to use the microphone and practice performing in the Studio's 'live gigging area'. They are encouraged to perform as a group at the Studio's end of year concert.

8 - 12 year group

The 8-12 year old group classes are held on Thursday nights after school. The student with no experience would start in the Beginners group. The teacher will inform you when the student needs more of a challenge and is ready for the next level, the Intermediate group. Private lessons follow the Intermediate group

Lesson are held during the school term and cost $165.00 a term. A $50.00 deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance is paid on the first lesson. Numbers are limited in each group. Call the Studio regarding availability.

Students are taught techniques such as breathing, breath support, posture, low, middle and high registers, pitch, music theory, vocal warming up techniques and exercises. You cover what you would normally cover in private lessons - only in the comfort of a group.

They will also learn and use the microphone, learn how to read music and get used to a live  gigging environment by using the Studio's "live gigging area" during the term. The group is encouraged to perform and the Studio's end of year concert.
