Introductory Lesson - $76.00 for 1 hour

Cate teaching Rebecca You may be tempted to take singing lessons but would like to try one out before committing to a block of lessons. Perhaps you really don't think you've got a singing voice at all. Have you got what it takes? Will you enjoy a singing lesson?

Our Introductory Lesson is designed just for you.

It is an hour long private singing lesson with just you and your teacher.

Katie teachingYou'll see that singing is a learnt skill and that even you can be taught to sing. You're not expected to know how to sing before coming to lessons. We'll teach you enough at the Introductory Lesson to be able to sing a song.

Our fully-trained teachers are friendly, encouraging and supportive. It often takes courage for new students to call us. We understand that. It's OK to be nervous but rest assured that our teachers are very understanding and will make you feel comfortable.

You don't need to know how to read music to learn how to sing.

In the Introductory Lesson you will cover:

  • breathing
  • breath support
  • how to sing the low, middle and high notes
  • posture
  • soft palatal lift (for high notes and singing in tune)
  • exercises to practice and reinforce what you've learned.

You will then apply the techniques to a suitable song.

You will also receive a brief, supportive professional assessment of your voice and its potential at the end of the lesson.

What will I sing in the Introductory Lesson?

After you have learnt enough technique, you will then be able to sing a song much better than before.

You can choose a song from the Beginners category in our Music Catalogue- it has over 18,000 to choose from, and is available for online browsing. We have all the latest, carefully selected songs as well as past favourites.

Alternatively, you can bring your own CDs and play them through our CD player which can change the song's pitch to suit your range. You can also bring your iPod with your favourite song on it if you prefer.

Recording your lesson on CD

We can record your Introductory Lesson on a CD for you to take homeyour personalised singing course at your finger tips to practice with. It will have on it what your teacher taught you, the exercises you covered and a copy of the songs for easy practice.

Piano, PA and computer in studioWe also suggest parents sit in on their child's Introductory Lesson so they can see how a lesson is conducted and what is involved in singing lessons at our Studio.

After an Introductory Lesson, students say that they feel more confident and have a great sense of achievement. Most join up for a block of lessons.
