Yes. Singing is a learnt skill. As a student at the Leanne
Hoad Singing Studio you are not expected to know how to sing until
you've been taught. We will teach you everything you need to know.
We offer professional
singing lesson in a caring, comfortable environment so if you are
new to singing we will look after you!
Our experienced teachers
are dedicated to make you feel comfortable. They will understand
that you may be nervous and will quickly help you relax, especially
if you are a beginner.
You will be personally
taught by your singing teacher
and lessons will be at your pace. Step by step they will explain
and demonstrate each step, answering any questions along the way.
We can even record the lessons for you to practice with between
lessons.
Our aim is to bring out
your voice like you couldn't imagine while singing songs that you
enjoy.
Like most things, singing
is a building block process. You will start with the basic techniques
of singing and move onto the more advanced ones as you are ready.
In the first term you
will cover about 10 - 15 minutes of technique
and warm-ups at the beginning of the lesson. Some of these include
breathing and breath control, techniques to extend you range, make
it stronger and pleasing to the listener.
The remainder of the lesson
is devoted to singing songs and applying your new found skills to
them. Check out our online
music catalogue for a range of songs you can sing. You can also
bring in your own music such as CDs.
As you progress, more
time may be devoted to singing. We do however ensure that you will
always be enjoying yourself.
We are great with beginners.
If you have no previous
experience (which is the case with most of our students) we will
teach you all the singing techniques you need to learn how to sing.
Our
emphasis on technique means that you will soon hear the improvement
in your singing voice regardless of the standard you begin with.

It's important to us that you achieve your goals, whether they be
professional or personal. This is more likely to happen if you're
enjoying your lessons as you learn the techniques.
So,
we make sure that your lessons are inspirational, that you're motivated,
that you're singing songs you like and, most importantly, you're
getting the results you're looking for.
Sometimes people want to come along with a friend, partner, or family
member.
We do offer lessons with
2-on-one (2 students per teacher) and 3-on-one (3 students per teacher).
It is cheaper for the individual
this way, but the learning process can be slower.
The fee for 2 people
per lesson is $220.00 each (inc GST) for 10
week block of lessons, ½ hour lesson/week.
The fee for 3 people
per lesson is $165.00 each (inc GST) for
10 week block of lessons, ½ hour lesson/week.
A minimum $50 non-refundable
deposit each is required before the commencement of the a 10 week
block of lessons to guarantee the lesson time. This deposit
is deducted from the term fee.
Our qualified teachers are all extensively trained inhouse, and
are constantly updated with latest advances in singing and the voice.
They are all great singers themselves and trained to teach all styles
of music with an emphasis on contemporary pop, rock and the latest
chart hits.
The Studio is open 6 days a week. Lessons are held every day and
evening Monday - Friday, and all day Saturdays. You have a ½
hr lesson once a week at a set time.
Each of our Studios is fully equipped with keyboards, computers,
microphones, PA systems, rehearsal mirrors and equipment.
We have an electronic Music Catalogue, available
online, of over 12,000 songs for you to choose songs to sing
in your lesson. There's an emphasis on contemporary, pop, jazz and
musical theatre, including the latest hits, and we update
the Catalogue regularly.
All
songs shown in the Catalogue as being on CD are available at the
Studio as MP3's to be played through the Studio computers.
You're
not restricted to selecting from our Music Catalogue. You're welcome
to bring along anything you want to sing. Just bring the CD (with
lyrics) and/or print music with you.
